A Message from the Administration Commander
Commander Dalla
I have been with the Sheriff’s Office and working within the Administration Department since 2007. I started as an Administrative Assistant until late 2008 when I was promoted to Accounting Supervisor and where I remained until earning the title of Finance Administrator in 2012. Then in late 2018, I was promoted to Commander.
The Administration Department is a support group with a staff of 14 full-time employees that perform those services necessary for conducting the agency’s finances, record keeping, Civil Division, purchasing, inventory, victim’s response, and customer service functions. Additionally, many of our team members have taken the opportunity to join, supervise, and assist in some of the Sheriff’s Office specialized groups such as Peer Support, Trauma Team, Honor Guard, Crisis Negotiation, and the K9 team.
As the Commander of Administration, I feel that making sure our team is cross-trained to cover each other’s tasks is of utmost importance so that individuals can use their time off when needed. Helping to ensure that employees are able to concentrate on their down time or family time and not have to feel overwhelmed when coming back to work is a great way to show appreciation to staff.
I am privileged to work with a team that maintains a high degree of integrity and trust. Each individual takes pride in supporting the agency’s mission, its goals, and the other departments within the agency. The Brain of Law Enforcement in Garfield County
The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office Administration team forms the brain of the organization. Their purpose is to support and assist with the day-to-day operations of the agency. The administrative team’s duties are vast and include: operating the front desk, case management, interfacing with the Court System, answering questions and interacting with the public, operational finances, quartermaster positions, victim response coordination and the trauma support team. Our administrative team keeps the organization moving forward and allows our deputies to focus on the crucial aspects of their job.
The Civil Division also falls under Administrative Command. Our Civil Deputies assist the public by serving papers (such as protection orders and court documents) and help the community with civil issues.
Connection to the Community
Our office staff have said that they enjoy working for the Sheriff’s Office because it provides them a connection to the community that other jobs do not. They get to help and assist people on a daily basis.
The Work Matters
The work that the administration team does truly matters and is just as important as the work that the Patrol and Detentions Deputies do daily. Our staff have said that supporting those who work hard to help keep the community a safer place makes an impact on them and gives them a deep sense of pride in their work. The administration staff work hard at things such as streamlining internal processes and coordinating the purchase and delivery of proper equipment needed for staff to do their respective jobs.
Professional Team
The team, led by Commander Redman, is a group of dedicated professionals that are cross-trained to cover tasks so that processes keep moving when staff are taking their earned vacations or needed time off. This helps make the agency a great place to work.
